Perilla (Perilla frutescens) *also known as Shiso. Shiso is used as a herb extensively in Chinese and Japanese medicine where it is considered a ‘transformer’. The essential oil has some very unusual compounds and its aroma is hard to describe, but for me has a fresh earthy quality. The oil has been researched extensively, and is famous for its anti-inflammatory qualities. It is also a useful support for the joints and muscles, and digestive system.

This is a pure therapeutic-quality aromatherapy essential oil from Japan, and is obtained from the leaves.
